15 Minute Garlic Bread (vegan-friendly)
My family is not Italian which is very apparent by the fact that we say "noodles and meat sauce" (lol), but we do love a good garlic bread! Today I'm share with you a delicious 15 Minute Garlic Bread recipe that will blow you and your family's socks off!
To up the nutrition of this garlic bread without losing that amazing butter-garlic-bread deliciousness, I used Alvarado Street Bakery's Sprouted Sourdough bread. I included the benefits of sprouted bread here if you'd like to learn more!
I hope you enjoy!
15 Minute Garlic Bread
Serves: 4
Prep time: 5 minutes
Total time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
4 slices sourdough bread
1 TBS butter (I used vegan butter and it worked out amazing!)
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp avocado oil ( I highly recommend using avocado oil because it has a 425F smoke point! What's a smoke point? It's the point where the oil literally begins to smoke and the healthy fats in that oil turn to trans fats which is no bueno!)
1 tsp water
Optional: Parmesan cheese
Directions:
1.) Preheat oven to 425F. Line a baking sheet with tinfoil.
2.) In the microwave, melt the butter in a small bowl for 15 seconds or until the butter is melted. Mix in the rest of the ingredients except the bread and stir until combined. The mixture should be thick but thin enough to spread onto the bread. If the butter mixture is too thick and almost like a paste, add another teaspoon of water to thin it.
3.) Using a basting brush (or a spoon!), evenly divide the butter mixture among the 4 slices of bread and spread it out.
4.) Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Optional: once the garlic bread is done, sprinkle each piece with Parmesan cheese and put it back in the warm oven with the oven turned OFF until the cheese is melty.
ENJOY!
